The Informer Group was a publishing company for African American newspapers in the U.S. southeast, based in Houston, Tex. Houston Informer founded 1919 by Clifton Frederick Richardson, Jr.; 1931 merged with Texas Freeman to become Informer and Texas Freeman; 1934 renamed Houston Informer.

Acquisition information:
The Informer Group advertisement--Largest Negro Circulation in the South! was received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library as a purchase in 2019.
