Scope and content:

Harold Jones (b 1940) is a photographer and educator. Born in New Jersey and working in New York for quite some time, Jones eventually took a position at the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona. He worked with W. Eugene Smith to acquire Smith's archive for the CCP collections.

In this oral history, Jones talks about his development as an artist, as well as his interactions with W. Eugene Smith at the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona. Smith's teaching methods, life style, and legacy are all discussed.
