Subject Files, 1936-1973
- Scope and content:
-
Divided into seventeen subseries which contain mainly constituent correspondence, with some letters from other Congressmen and Congressional staff, as well as background material on some issues. Arranged alphabetically by broad topic, subdivided by more specific topics, then chronologically within each division. Except for Agriculture and Forestry, Foreign Relations, and Public Works, which were retained virtually intact, the files have been sampled, with a retention rate of between 10% and 35%.
