Scope and content:

Series comprises correspondence and journals (the largest groups), as well as biographical materials, writing and lectures, interviews, printing and developing notes, and printed material such as fliers, clippings, and brochures. Much of this material was received after Kwilecki's death in 2009. Also includes two videocassettes, untitled and undated; these must be reformatted for access by request.

Included are interviews and speeches in which Kwilecki speaks about his publishing experience, his philosophy of photography, his love for Decatur County, his experiences as a self-taught documentary photographer, and his thoughts on the subjects and themes found in his work as a Southern photographer.
