Collection of published clippings and journal/magazine excerpts related to the life and works of English writer Charles Lamb (1775-1834). Includes some of Lamb's writings, as well as literary criticism and biographical clippings.

Biographical / historical:

Charles Lamb (10 February 1775 – 27 December 1834) was an English writer and essayist, best known for his Essays of Elia and for the children's book Tales from Shakespeare, which he produced with his sister, Mary Lamb (1764–1847). He also wrote a number of poems, and was part of a literary circle in England, along with Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth, whom he befriended.

Acquisition information:
The Charles Lamb Clippings Collection was received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library as a transfer from the Perkins Library Pamphlet Collection in the 1920s/1930s.
