Wei Chunxiang (b. 1933) resides in Dalian, Niaoning Province. Wei is the grandmother of the interviewer Liu Xiaolei and the wife of another interviewee Liu Shaoxun. She recollects that during the Cultural Revolution, her husband was struggled against as the "authority". During the Famine, Wei went to her husband's hometown to sell his old house. Under the supply system, Wei's first child got measles and died without treatment. Under the Japanese occupation, she ate the Japanese's fodder for livestock to survive. The transcript of this interview has been translated into English.
魏春香(1933年生)居住于辽宁省大连市。魏春香是采访人刘晓雷的奶奶,刘少勋的妻子。她回忆了文革时自己的丈夫作为当权派被批斗,饥荒时期家里饭不够吃,跟着丈夫去山东老家卖以前的房子,寻求帮助。供给制时期,魏老人的第一个孩子因为得了麻疹,没有条件治疗去世了。日据时期,她只能偷吃日本人养牲口的饲料。
