Ye Jingying (b.1936) is a resident of Zhaixia Village, Pengzhai Town, Heping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. Ye is married to Ye Pingmo. At the start of the communization, the management went well and she could have rice for every meal. After the commune is incorporated, their food is taken away to share with all the community members. Ye mentions that the production team put three fields of rice on the same spot, and all the plants died. Ye's father was a party branch secretary in charge of that area. The transcript of this interview has been translated into English.

叶敬英(1936年生)是广东省河源市和平县彭寨镇寨下村村民，丈夫是叶平漠。公社化初期，公社管理有秩序，她可以三顿吃干饭到饱，但后来公社集中，他们所有的粮食都被拿走，大家一起吃，食物就紧缺了。叶老人还提到了当时生产队把三块田的稻谷堆到一块田上，后来稻谷就都死了，人们更加没有东西吃。叶老人父亲当时是党支书，管理那片区域，对她有所照顾，所以她情况还不错，可以去食堂舀粥喝。文革期间，老人的父亲及其它干部被揭发各种罪行，然后被吊起来批斗。有人被批斗得难以忍受，便借口方便，在茅坑里上吊自杀，而叶老人的父亲被管制得甚至无法自杀，而平反后只补到了八千块钱。老人入过初级社和高级社，改革开放以后还在继续耕田。
