Li Shaoying | 李召英, 2012

Scope and content:

Li Zhaoying (b.1939) is a resident of Shili village, Zoucheng City, Shandong Province. Li says that there was no harvest in 1957, the communal canteen started in the latter half of 1958 and lasted for about a year. There was not much food in the canteen but no one starved to death. Her husband was a facoty worker in Northeast and she was with him during those years and they suffered less hunger.

李召英（1939年生）是济宁市邹城市千泉街道办事处十里村村人。李老人说57年没有收成，58年下半年开始吃食堂，持续了一年。食堂分的食物很少，但没有人饿死。她随丈夫到东北工厂，挨饿的情况较好。
