Li Shiying | 李氏英, 2011

Scope and content:

Li Shiying (b.1936) is a resident of Wanbaochang Village, Tongchang Town, Yimen County, Yunnan Province. In this interview, Li remembers life during the Great Famine. When eating at the People's Commune canteen, her child was two years old, Li must work while starving, and had eaten all kinds of food. Her great-uncle in Laozhao Village starved to death then. The filmmaker's description of this interview has been translated into English.

李氏英1936年出生,是云南省易门县铜厂乡铜厂村委会万宝厂村的村民。在这段口述中,李老人回忆了大饥荒期间的生活。吃伙食团时李氏英的孩子两岁,她又要劳动又挨饿,吃过各种东西。老赵村的舅爷那时饿死了。
