Zhang Yinjing (b.1923) now lives in Shahe City, Hebei Province. In this interview, Zhang remembers life during the Great Famine. Because food tickets were not required for buying food on the train, many people took the train back and forth and bought food there. There were inspections everyday and those who hid food for themselves were criticized, so people hid food inside their shoes.

张银静1923年出生， 现居河北省沙河市。在这段口述中，张老人回忆了大饥荒时期的生活。因为在火车上买饭不要粮票，很多人都来回做火车，在上面买饭。每天都检查和批斗私藏粮食的人，大家把吃的藏在鞋里。

Gao Yinggui (b.1934) now lives in Shahe City, Hebei Province. In this interview, Gao remembers experiences during the Great Famine. He joined the military in 1955, and was in the army in 1958; the proneness to exaggeration and boasting was serious then.

高英贵1934年出生，现居河北省沙河市。在这段口述中，高老人回忆了大饥荒时的经历。他1955年入伍，58年时在部队，当时的浮夸风很厉害。
