Liao Wenguang (b.1930) is a resident of Caojia Village, Hengyang County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province. He is the interviewer's granduncle, and has written Liao family's genealogy book. In this interview, Liao recalls the experience of starvation during the Great Famine. Without food, he has eaten anything possible. Although the famine food is unimaginable now, it would still get stolen then when no one was home.
廖文广1930年出生,是湖南省衡阳市衡阳县长安乡曹家村的村民。他是采访者的舅爷爷,也写过廖家的族谱。在这段口述中,廖老人回忆了大饥荒期间挨饿的经历。因为没食物,他什么都做来吃。即便是难以想象的食物不在家时还会被人偷走。
