Zhou Jinnian recalled that many people died of starvation in 1959 because the village production team leader sold all grain to the state. Villagers went to look for edible wild vegetable in the wood when they were hungry.
周金年回忆说59年这地方饿死的人很多, 因为队长把粮食全部卖了. 饥饿时村民们找森林里的野菜野草吃.
