Abe Sklar's personal files re: Karl Menger, 1920s-2000s
- Scope and content:
-
Abe (Abraham) Sklar (1925-2020) was an applied mathematician and professor at Illinois Institute of Technology. He was an estate administrator for Karl Menger and kept personal files of Menger's writings, research, and correspondence which were donated to Rubenstein Library's Karl Menger Papers in 2023. Materials in this subseries include reprints and some annotated drafts of Menger's papers, in German and English; personal correspondence between Sklar, Menger, and other colleagues; documents about the Karl Menger estate and its administration; and some subject-file related materials about Menger including obituaries and bibliographies. Sklar's files have been inventoried in order received; folder titles have been assigned when possible. The untitled folders have a variety of printed and draft materials included and their arrangement reflects Sklar's personal filing method.
