Scope and content:

Contains documents related to Muñoz's international work at the UN, including his presidency of the Security Council, chairmanship of the Al-Qaeda and Taliban Sanctions Committee (1267 Committee), work on the Peacebuilding Commission, and participation in committees to reform the UN. Materials include drafts, position papers, memos, proposals, presentations, official correspondence, reports, speeches, articles, clippings, resolutions, statements, minutes, interviews, itineraries, copies of photographs, pamphlets, business cards, and conference and meeting programs and notes. Many of the documents have handwritten annotations. Also included is confidential correspondence regarding Chilean foreign policy. Topics include: UN reform, human rights, international security, peacebuilding, the financial crisis, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Sudan, Somalia, and Haiti. Three subseries on UN Reform, UN Security Council, and other materials are each arranged chronologically.
