Scope and content:

The African Americana subseries contains photographs, playbills, newsletters, circulars, memorial service programs, campaign materials, and other ephemeral publications collected by Muse, highlighting various eras of race relations in America from 1817-2023. Subseries includes civil rights protest images taken by Matt Heron, photographs of Muse and the events she organized, a copy of Martin Luther King's Letter from a Birmingham City Jail, as well as audiocassette and CD recordings of figures including Paul Robeson, Gwendolyn Brooks, Ralph Featherstone, and Langston Hughes.

Materials originally titled "Negro and Race Ephemera" were retitled "Race Relations Ephemera."
