Series contains materials related to the cultural and political experiences of African Americans, and individuals of African descent across the diaspora, from 1817 to 2023. Included are photographs, playbills, newsletters, circulars, memorial service programs, campaign materials, press reports, correspondence, journals, teaching materials, zines, seminar materials, and other ephemeral publications. Topics include race relations in America, political campaign strategies, civil and human rights movements, the Black arts movement, prison reform, Pan-Africanism, and social liberation. Also includes edits and notes from Muse related to Walter Rodney's works. Files are arranged into two subseries: African Americana and Pan-Africana.
