North Carolina. General Court - Abstract:
- W. Bryan Bolich (1896-1977) was a professor and former dean of the Duke University School of Law. This collection consists of typescript versions of North Carolina General Court minutes, dating from colonial North Carolina (1693-1767), some with accompanying commentary by Bolich's students or other scholars. The original volumes are held by the State Archives of North Carolina. These typescripts and commentary were created in the 1950s-1960s and transferred to Duke University Library by Bolich in 1969.

This collection consists of typescript versions of North Carolina General Court minutes, dating from colonial North Carolina (1693-1767), some with accompanying commentary by W. Bryan Bolich's students or other scholars. The original volumes are held by the State Archives of North Carolina.
- Biographical / historical:

W. Bryan Bolich was Professor of Law and Acting Dean, 1927-1930; Professor of Law, 1930-1966; and Professor Emeritus, 1966-1976, of the Duke University School of Law. Along with important contributions and guidance for Duke's legal education curriculum, Bolich taught classes on many aspects of law. He also served a term in the North Carolina House of Representatives. His particular areas of interest were property, real estate, and legal history.

- The North Carolina General Court typescripts of minutes were received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library as a transfer from W. Bryan Bolich in 1969.
- Processing information:

These materials were initially acquired by Duke University Library in 1969-1970. They were subsequently transferred to the Manuscripts Department and were filed in the North Carolina Papers. According to stamps on the materials, the collection was microfilmed by the North Carolina State Archives in 1975. The typescripts were removed from the North Carolina Papers and processed separately by Meghan Lyon in August 2026.
