Scope and content:

Contains early black-and-white images of North Carolina Mutual officers, employees, their family members, corporate meetings, office interiors, and groups related to NCM, such as Thrift Clubs, musical groups, and sports teams. These files were assembled by staff in their own separate grouping; additional historic images can also be found in the People Subseries, as well as throughout the Printed Materials Series, where they are often found reproduced in publications of many types.

Formats are wide-ranging, and include true photographic prints, both mounted and unmounted, in albumen, platinum, and gelatin silver processes; printed images on paper; clippings; and photographic copy prints from the late 20th century. Oftentimes there are crop marks and other editorial marks made by the Publications Department staff.

Large-format historical images of the NCM offices and its officers and employees are also found in the Oversize Prints section at the end of this series; sizes range from 11x14" to approx. 32x40"; there is also an extremely large panoramic print 27x75" of the Parrish Street home office, closed to use until conservation treatment is completed.

Arranged alphabetically by folder title and within in loose chronological order.
