- Scope and content:
-
Material such as conference programs and papers, travel documents, reports, proposals, and nominations that capture Nerlove's history of professional service as an economist to professional organizations, government bodies, and other entities (this is different from his academic service as a professor, which is in the Departmental subseries). Some highlights include Nerlove being President of the Econometric Society in 1981; trips to Africa, Brazil, and Germany; and testifying as an expert witness for Southern Pacific at Interstate Commerce Commission hearings in 1961. Organized into three subseries: Conferences and Organizations, "Trips and Talks," and Consulting. Within the papers, there is the most overlap between these three subseries and the boundaries between them should not be viewed as firm.
