Materials in this series pertain to the career of filmmaker and New Day Films co-founder Amalie R. Rothschild, and her activities on behalf of the New Day cooperative. The materials are organized accordingly into two main divisions.
The Films and Film Projects Papers series contains subseries for each of the four Rothschild films in the collection. Each begins with the original analog film elements and a series of supporting materials documenting the evolution of the film projects and the life of the films after their release. Currently there are no digital elements for her films in the collection. The supporting materials for each film chiefly comprise production files and publicity for the films, with some financial papers and correspondence. There are also film rentals and sales slips for each film. There are also several boxes of papers pertaining more generally to Rothschild's filmmaking career, and contain publicity files as well as a large group of additional film sales and rental slips.
The second large division contains New Day co-op administrative files assembled by Rothschild for her own use. These comprise a long series of correspondence, and files chiefly relating to sales, membership, and New Day publicity from the beginnings of the co-op to the 1980s.
