Two decades ago, a step ahead of the demolition crews, African-American artists board-up two blocks of abandoned houses in inner-city Houston, painting on the boards for a guerilla art exhibit. They stay to become an internationally-recognized model for community renewal and local transformation, "Project Row Houses". This is a slice of the story of Project Row Houses and their MacArthur "Genius Award" winning creative director, Rick Lowe, as their success attracts deep-pocket developers, and threatens to destroy what has been achieved.
