Collection consists of manuscript and typewritten letters, written primarily to Sylvia Norton from her family, dealing with their financial struggles during the Great Depression. Also contains manuscripts of poetry and short stories written by either Sylvia or Lillian Norton under the name (Frances) Elliott Norton. Correspondence with author and critic Laurence D'Orsay discusses Elliott Norton's writing abilities. There are also a few news clippings, legal documents, and some biographical materials. Acquired as part of the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History and Culture.
