Includes 1891 letter to W. M. Thompson inviting him to a conference on the position of women because of his attacks on suffragists, and explaining the suffragists' position. The other letter (1920), to M. Wickle, discusses attitudes about her in New England, "I imagine my attitude towards pacifism & radicalism is considered too drastic by some of the leading people in some movements," and plans for a luncheon.
