The subseries includes material from Richard Payne's work on palliative care and end-of-life issues. Included are brochures, records, video records and other materials from the Harlem Palliative Care Network, an organization at North General Hospital which worked to ensure that patients had the greatest possible quality of life as they faced end-of-life issues. Also included are conference materials from the Last Miles of the Way Home Conference, which focused on the improvement of care at the end of life for African-Americans. The subseries also includes participant materials from the Palliative Care Training and Education Program, as well as material from conferences organized by VITAS Healthcare.
