Scope and content:

This subseries includes material from Richard Payne's work on pain management. Included are a meeting program from the American Pain Society, where Richard Payne served as president, videos from Payne's television appearances regarding effective pain management, and conference materials, including from the Pain Action Alliance to Implement a National Strategy. Of note is a 2016 letter from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden regarding Richard Payne, the Center for Practical Bioethics, Purdue Pharma, and the opioid overdose epidemic. The letter is in the PPP Meeting folder.
