The Private Snafu (military slang/acronym for "Situation Normal, All F***d Up") training films were produced by Warner Brothers Cartoons and a creative team that included among others Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, Carl Stalling, and Mel Blanc. Warner Brothers produced over 25 Private Snafu cartoons, intended to instruct troops on various topics through the use of familiar humor. "Private Snafu vs. Malaria Mike" (United States of America War Office, Misc. 1035) demonstrated ways to avoid mosquito bites, and thereby malaria, while "Private Snafu - Rumors," showed the potential damage to security of relaying rumors.
