A 1-page letter from Priest to Captain J. R. Brown of the American Brig Atlanta, who evidently traded on the western coast of Africa and supplied various missions. Priest writes requesting to be one of those supplied: "Our position is different from what you deem to suppose. Mr. Connoly is not aughorized to give draught for me. We are both principle of our Stations. We are to attend to our own business & when we cannot get Captains to supply us we must suffer. We have not been under any one since we came to Africa....When you go home please to learn our position from the Board so that you can supply us when we are in distress"
