The Young Communist League and Other Related Radical Youth Organizations, 1931-1958 and undated, bulk 1930s-1940s

Scope and content:

Organizations represented include the Young Communist League, the Young Pioneers of America, the International Student Union, and the Student League for Industrial Democracy. One pamphlet was issued under the auspices of the Anti-Fascist Youth Rally in Moscow, 1941. Five pamphlets were written by Gilbert Green, president of the Young Communist League.

Collection is open for research.

Some of the pamphlets are rapidly deteriorating due to the acidic composition of their paper. To protect the most severe cases from further deterioration yet still make them available to researchers, many of them were photocopied on acid-free paper. These use copies are filed in the main collection and the originals are closed to use.
