This half-length portrait is of a well-dressed unidentified young African American man, circa 1920, with an inscription on the back that reads, From your Brother James... to sister Hattie Givens / address 1746 S St. NW, Washington DC." The sitter appears to be too old to be Fannie B. Rosser's brother James Boyd Rosser, who was born in 1904. The photographer is Leo Weintrob (aka Weintraub), 1717 1/2 Atlantic City Ave., Atlantic City, New Jersey (active late 1880s-1920s).
The portrait was removed from its broken cardstock oval frame and sleeved separately.
