Copies of correspondence from Reynolds Price to Ruhlman, digitized audio of interviews conducted by Ruhlman with Price and others for a magazine profile, cassette tapes, and transcripts of the interviews.

Biographical / historical:

Michael Ruhlman graduated from Duke University in 1985 and is now an author of non-fiction texts. His recent works have focused on cooking, and he has collaborated with several chefs throughout the world. More information about Ruhlman can be found on his website, http://ruhlman.com/.

Reynolds Price was a novelist, short story writer, poet, dramatist, essayist, translator, and James B. Duke Professor of English at Duke University, where he taught creative writing and literature beginning in 1958. He was an alumnus of Duke and of Oxford University, which he attended on a Rhodes Scholarship. He received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, and his books were nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.

Acquisition information:
The Michael Ruhlman Collection of Reynolds Price were received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library as a gift in 2012.
