The financial papers include household and plantation accounts and tax receipts. Also included is a receipt dated January 13, 1832, for the purchase of Cora, an enslaved woman, by Derrill Sanders from Lance & Gadsden of Charleston, South Carolina; and two documents dated 1845-1846 related to the purchase of thirty-three enslaved persons (not individually named) by Benjamin and Burrell Sanders from the estate of Judge Lee.
