Scarf's name files on various individuals and general correspondence. He maintained correspondence files for particular individuals of note and his PhD advisees (including copies of dissertations), while collecting other correspondence in General Correspondence folders. This series also contains his correspondence with various publishers and academic journals. Correspondents of note include Kenneth Arrow, Gerard Debreu, Duncan Foley, Ralph Gomory, Werner Hildenbrand, Tim Kehoe, Tjalling Koopmans, Harold Kuhn, Michael Mandler, Rolf Mantel, Joan Robinson, John Shoven, Martin Shubik, and John Whalley.
