Aaron Henry's running mate during the 1963 Freedom Vote campaign; heavily involved in the Jackson, MS, civil rights movement for more than twenty years; served as MFDP delegate to the 1964 Democratic National Convention. Interview with Sinsheimer. King discussed: civil rights activity at Tougaloo College, 1961-1962; role of Mrs. Doris Allison in the Jackson movement; John Salter's role in the Jackson movement; development of student leadership at Tougaloo; interaction between SNCC staff and Tougaloo students, 1962-1963.
