- Biographical / historical:
- Meristem was the only feminist bookstore in Tennessee for the eight years it was in operation. As of August 2001, there is no feminist bookstore in Tennessee. Original owners and founders: Audrey May and Vickie Scarborough. Audrey bought out Vickie in 1993 and ran the store as sole proprietor until it closed.
