Earl Dotter digitized and restored many of Charles Thamm's original negatives and prints, and in doing so created new works of adjusted digital images which are included in this subseries. Dotter's titles and CT numbers are present. Dotter's adjustments included color corrections, digital repair of cracked or faded glass plate negatives or prints, and enhancements or cropping. He explained the motivation and part of his process in his illustrated biography, Charles G. A. Thamm: Artist, Copper Plate Engraver, Inventor and Photographer , also present in this collection.
Researchers interested in the original image should review the Charles G. A. Thamm Original Photographs series, which contains unaltered digital raw scans as well as original negatives and photograph prints from Thamm.
