This series contains both personal and business financial records. Personal financial records include invoices and receipts for jewelry purchased by Nanaline Duke, home furnishings, art, and interior design records for the Duke's Fifth Avenue mansion,and clothes and toys for daughter Doris. Business financial records consist of invoices, receipts, and related materials from J.B. Duke's business affairs, including receipts for purchases made by the British American Tobacco Co., Ltd. Also in the series are journals and ledgers for the Southern Investment Co. of Canada Limited and the wages of employees, office and miscellaneous salaries from 1919–1950.
