Scope and content:

This series consists largely of materials related to the establishment and development of a Black Studies program (renamed African and Afro-American Studies then African and African American Studies) at Duke with some material for the Black Studies Committee at Durham Public Schools. Includes records of Duke's Black Studies program, the Advisory Committee, the President's Council on Black Affairs, the Association of African Students, and the Black History Forum in 1972.
