Biographical / historical:

Language Dormitory, shortened to LangDorm, started as a selective living group (SLG) at Duke University then transitioned into a living learning community (LLC) in 2023. It was founded to provide students with an opportunity to live in a community with others who share an interest in language, culture, and global citizenship. Members of LangDorm live together in Crowell Quad and host events such as cooking sessions, language circles, international film screenings, and group trips. Every semester, LangDorm also offers a House Course that explores the connection between language, identity, and culture.
