The collection consists of correspondence, a brochure, and several flyers related to the founding of the La Unidad Latina chapter at Duke University.

Biographical / historical:

The La Unidad Latina (LUL), Labda Upsilon Lambda, Rho Chapter, is a Latino fraternity and was founded at Duke University in the spring of 1995 with seven members. The organization "seeks to take a leadership role in meeting the needs of the Latino community through academic achievement, cultural awareness, community service and promotion of the Latino culture and people." La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Incorporated was founded in 1982 at Cornell University and has expanded to more than 75 chapters around the United States.
