Instrumental Works, 1942-2010 and undated
- Scope and content:
-
Instrumental Works is comprised of Robert Ward's compositions for orchestra, wind ensemble, concert band, and a variety of chamber ensembles. Most of the pieces include newspaper clippings, programs, and reviews from performances, including premieres. Almost all pieces include music sketches, piano reductions, full scores, orchestral scores, conductor's scores, and complete sets of parts. Many pieces also have recordings, when noted. Media types include audiocassettes, compact discs, digital audio tapes, DVDs, and VHS tapes. The scores include published versions, edited proofs—many in Ward's own hand—master sheets, printing masters, and original manuscripts. Recording titles are taken from the media objects themselves. Arranged alphabetically by title of piece.
