Formal studio portrait of an unidentified young woman of indeterminate race, in a light dress, standing and resting her hand on an upright, upside-down book. She is the same young woman featured in P-0008 in this collection. The book is recognizable as the 1889 edition of the Rev. T. Dewitt Talmage's Pathway of Life. Early gelatin silver process, oval print mounted on thick dark card stock. Includes an original envelope. No markings. Date estimate derived from book edition and cabinet card characteristics.
