Edith Wharton was an American novelist, short story writer, and designer. She was born Edith Newbold Jones on 24 Jan. 1862 in New York City; she died 11 Aug. 1937 in Val d'Oise, France.

- The Edith Wharton "La Duchessa in Preghiera" Corrected Manuscript, dated after 1900, was received by the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book Manuscript Library in 2015 as a loan from Lisa Unger Baskin. It was donated as a gift in 2017.
