Includes materials such as clippings, reports, correspondence, press releases and urgent actions, hill drops, newsletters, printed material, and other assorted materials on Mexico. Covers a wide variety of topics on politics, government, the economy, US relations, drugs, WOLA talks and delegations, but most materials focus on human rights issues and elections. Topics relating to human rights include documenting human rights abuses particularly in Chiapas after the Zapatista uprising and elsewhere, including violence against indigenous communities, the Acetal massacre, the Aguas Blancas massacre, and against individuals such as General Gallardo, Digna Ochoa, Rodolfo Montiel and Teodoro Cabrera. Elections cover mainly those between 1994-2000 and include information on electoral reform, voting, candidates, election results and observers; this includes WOLA delegations and the group, Alianza Civica's work in election analysis, voting guides, and poll observer manuals.
