Scope and content:

Includes reports, articles, drafts; correspondence, memos, and internal communications; visual materials; government documents such as declassified documents, briefings, hearings, testimony; conference materials; press releases, "Dear Colleague" letters, and sign-ons; newsletters and clippings; and other assorted materials related to most countries in Latin America, Haiti, and specific regions. Topics largely focus on human rights as it intersects with politics and government, economic issues, and relationship with the US, whether that is US policy, aid, or military involvement; as well as specific cases of abuse and some of the organizations with which WOLA partners to improve the situation through urgent actions, sign-ons, lobbying work, and reaching out to officials. While most countries are represented, the largest subseries include Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, and Peru.
