Materials focus on economic and human rights issues raised by the civil war (1981-1992) between the government and the leftist political party, the Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN). Topics include economic development regarding aid, reconstruction after natural disasters, and reform; human rights violations impact on aid, and how human rights intersects with elections, democratization, immigration, labor, judicial reform, reform of the PNC, US policy, ONUSAL, FMLN, and the truth commission; publications such as El Proceso and Tendencias; and conferences and other events.
