Scope and content:

Contains clippings, press releases including urgent actions, correspondence, newsletters, meeting notes, reports, and other assorted material from WOLA. Topics include the 1989 democratic elections in Chile, the first since the 1973 coup, and with information on different political parties; the assassination of Orlando Letelier and his assistant, Ronnie Moffitt, and international efforts to bring their killers to justice; human rights abuses during the Pinochet regime, including a three-volume report issued by the Chilean Truth and Reconciliation Commission; and efforts by human rights groups to bring Pinochet to trial in the 1990s-2000s.
