The Committee on Facilities and Environment is advisory to the President and the senior officers on "all relevant issues relating to the campus or areas contiguous to campus." Collection contains minutes, memoranda, correspondence, reports, architectural and technical drawings, plot plans, studies, Polaroid photographs, and other records relating to the activities of the Committee of Facilities and Environment. Materials range in date from 1985-1997.

The Duke Faculty Newsletter was distributed as a stand-alone publication from 1979 to 1986. Post-1986, the newsletter was published as an insert within the campus publication Duke Dialogue. The collection contains news clippings from local publications covering the newsletter, proposed articles, correspondence, and a readership survey.

The Explorers' Club was formed as an informal walking club for Duke students and faculty in 1930. The collection includes photographs of club expeditions, memorabilia and correspondence, mostly from the years 1932 to 1971.

The Facilities Management Department (FMD) is responsible for the maintenance, repair and minor alteration of the campus facilities. Collection contains material pertaining to the operations of the FMD including a 1990/1991 annual report, committee minutes, materials related to the restoration of the stained glass windows in the Chapel, and architectural drawings including many from the Trumbauer firm of campus buildings.

The Finance and Administration group is a part of the Office of the Provost of Duke University responsible for budgets and cost planning of all academic and administrative units under the Provost, as well as human resources, space planning, and the university's support of Duke Kunshan University. The collection includes materials related to planning and opening of Duke Kunshan University, student financial aid, and other topics.

The Program in Film/Video/Digital, formerly the Program in Film and Video, is an interdisciplinary course of study that introduces students to the critical analysis of film, photography, and television in the context of cultural studies. This collection includes correspondence, production information, publicity materials, and video recordings created or collected by the Film/Video/Digital program.

The University Finances Reference Collection contains files of publications, reports, news clippings, and memoranda related to the University's investments, fundraising, budgeting and similar financial matters. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

The Fifth Decade Program was part of a ten-year plan to expand educational and research programs, strengthen the faculty, and upgrade the physical plant. The collection includes the files of the Ad Hoc Committee on Quality, reports, printed material and clippings. It ranges in date from 1964-1973.

The Sports Information Office provides information about Duke athletics to the media. They also facilitate press interviews with Duke athletes and coaches. The collection includes clippings, press releases, statistics, rosters, programs and press brochures/media guides about the field hockey team at Duke University. The material ranges in date from 1977-ongoing.

The Firsts Reference Collection contains files of notes and clippings documenting first instances in a variety of areas. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

The Football Game Film Collection includes films of Duke football games from the 1930s through the 1990s created by Duke Athletics for use by coaches.

Pamela Gann served as the Dean of the Duke University Law School from 1988 to 1999. The Pamela B. Gann Papers include materials from Pamela Gann's time as Dean of the Duke University Law School.

Gilbert-Addoms Residence Hall is a freshman dormitory on East Campus. Contains the records of activities of residents Gilbert-Addoms Residence Hall. Types of materials include flyers, newsletters, agendas, notes, calendars, and damage reports. Major topics include residential living, Duke University, and social activities among students. The collection also contains accounting materials related to Addoms House. Materials date from 1957-1992 (bulk 1991-1992).

Thomas M. Gallie served as Professor of Mathematics and Director of the Computer Science Program at Duke University, and as leader of Triangle Universities Computation Center and the N.C. Educational Computing Services initiatives. The Gallie papers include correspondence, memoranda, reports, clippings, financial records, and grant proposals. Major subjects include the Duke University Department of Mathematics, the Department of Computer Science, N.C. Educational Computing Services, Triangle Universities Computation Center, computing at Duke University, computing in medical services, and computerized phonetic transcriptions. Materials range in date from 1955-1972.

The Sarah P. Duke Gardens Reference Collection contains files of clippings, brochures, maps, history of the gardens, symposium and promotional packets, and other material concerning the Duke Gardens.

The Gross-Edens Affair Reference Collection contains files of newspaper clippings, correspondence and memoranda, and articles concerning a 1960 administrative controversy at Duke. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

The Fuqua School of Business Reference Collection contains files of memoranda, clippings, and other printed materials about the school. This collection was compiled from a variety of sources by the University Archives for use in reference and research.

The study of economics has a long history at Duke University. Economics classes were taught at Trinity College, the forerunner of Duke University, as early as the 1899-1900 academic year. Several individuals particularly important to the Department's development and programming: include Calvin Bryce Hoover; Joseph J. Spengler; H. Gregg Lewis; and Martin Bronfenbrenner. The collection contains miscellaneous office files associated with the daily operations of the Department of Economics including: correspondence, memoranda, class schedules, faculty rosters and files, reports, and undergraduate honors theses. Also present are the Working Papers in Economics produced by the Department of Economics, Duke University dating 1981-1990, 1992.

Charles Abram Ellwood (1873-1946) established the Department of Sociology at Duke University in 1930, retiring in 1944. The papers feature incoming and outgoing correspondence, chiefly professional but with some personal exchanges; minutes and other records of Pi Gamma Mu; book and article manuscripts; speeches; news clippings and book reviews; and some photographs. There are some papers related to his teaching career, chiefly related to summer school appointments and his positions at Missouri and Duke. A microfilm copy of a scrapbook (circa 1900-1946) contains clippings from Ellwood's career. Professional topics in the papers cover discussion and criticism of Ellwood's books, articles, and views; international and U.S. sociology organizations; the sociology departments at the University of Missouri and Duke University; social ethics; criminology; the social function of religion; and the scientific and statistical approach to sociology. Issues in Ellwood's papers related to crises of the time include race relations; political systems and beliefs; Fascism; persecution of Jews in Europe; U.S. involvement in World War II; religion and ethics; militarism and pacifism; and compulsory conscription.
