The Arabic Film Posters collection comprises more than forty color movie posters published between 1957 and 2008 in Egypt. The posters publicize popular film productions by major Egyptian film directors that were shown in Arab countries. Film genres represented are drama, comedy, adventure, historical fiction and war. The information in each entry is transcribed from the poster, and may include actors, producer, title in Arabic and in English, date released or date of poster publication, and country of origin. Title transcriptions and English translations supplied by library staff. A few of the posters are undated and some have not been positively identified. Smaller posters are housed in an oversize box and the larger sizes in two oversize folders; the smaller posters are currently undescribed but are open to access.

Charles L. Abernethy, Sr. (1872-1955) was a Democratic Congressman representing eastern North Carolina from 1922-1935. His professional papers consist chiefly of correspondence and records from his law practice and legal cases, with smaller amounts of writings and speeches, financial papers, printed materials, diaries, and some personal papers, including early deeds. There is also a large group of photographs, photo albums, and clippings scrapbooks chiefly documenting Abernethy's political career. One album from 1907 contains postcards of Beaufort, N.C.; another contains photographs of a three-month Congressional trip to Alaska, 1923, and includes images of President and Mrs. Harding and a diary transcript of the trip. Other items include some papers of his son, Charles Laban Abernethy, Jr., also a lawyer, and a volume of his poetry.

Collection consists of 174 postcards with photographs and mechanical prints, featuring scenes and landscapes from locations in what has historically been defined as the Balkans region of Southeastern Europe. Cities represented include: Varna, Bulgaria; Ruse/Rustchuk, Bulgaria; Sofia, Bulgaria; Bitola/Monastir, Macedonia; Negotin, Serbia; Skopje, North Macedonia; Sarajevo; Belgrade, Serbia; Oradea, Romania; Thessaloniki, Greece; Constanta, Romania; Sulina, Romania; Scutari, Albania; and Szegard, Hungary. The assorted postcards contains images of buildings, hotels, shops, government buildings, houses, monasteries, landmarks, and geographic features, as well as scenes of people walking on the street, swimming, sunbathing, shopping, and eating.

The Cuban Revolution Materials collection comprises assorted printed materials and serials publications regarding the Cuban Revolution of 1959, Fidel Castro's governance, and U.S. foreign policy in Cuba in the 1960s, especially the Bay of Pigs Invasion of April 1961. Committees and Organizations series contains assorted documents including leaflets, position statements, generated by pro-Cuba organizations based in major metropolitan areas, primarily New York City, in 1960 and 1961. Original sources are unknown; the collection was received as a transfer from the Duke University Library pamphlet collection.

This assembled collection of 47 documents, largely manuscript letters, covers nearly the entire span of British rule in India and is arranged in rough chronological order. The collection includes governmental reports, personal correspondence, and a printed map. Most of the documents are quite short though there are a few longer pieces and collections including a plan for opium sales, a series of reports on Indo-American trade, and a long letter on army discipline prior to the Vellore Revolution.
