Collection consists of 174 postcards with photographs and mechanical prints, featuring scenes and landscapes from locations in what has historically been defined as the Balkans region of Southeastern Europe. Cities represented include: Varna, Bulgaria; Ruse/Rustchuk, Bulgaria; Sofia, Bulgaria; Bitola/Monastir, Macedonia; Negotin, Serbia; Skopje, North Macedonia; Sarajevo; Belgrade, Serbia; Oradea, Romania; Thessaloniki, Greece; Constanta, Romania; Sulina, Romania; Scutari, Albania; and Szegard, Hungary. The assorted postcards contains images of buildings, hotels, shops, government buildings, houses, monasteries, landmarks, and geographic features, as well as scenes of people walking on the street, swimming, sunbathing, shopping, and eating.

Baumann was librarian for African and Western European Studies at Duke University, 1988-2006. Includes images of housing conditions; markets, public spaces, monuments, and buildings; and soccer matches.

Brands represented include Aplin & Barrett, Bel, Cow & Gate, Kraft, Libby, Plumrose, St. Ivel (Unigate, later Uniq), Swift, Surrey, Tolko, Tollose and Wilts. Cheeses originated from a variety of European countries including Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway and Sweden. Acquired as part of the John W. Titled "After Eisenhower" in reference to the outgoing President's speech about military power, this body of work by photographer Jasmine Clark consists of 36 16x20 inch color inkjet photographs of signs, symbols, slogans, and advertising that permeate the streets and outdoor spaces of military-based towns. The images convey complex themes of patriotism, Christianity, masculinity and feminity, and other iconographic expressions of "Middle America" culture. Acquired by the Archive of Documentary Arts at Duke University.

Wanted posters collection, 1914-1988

This collection consists of posters of individuals sought in connection with crimes that were collected by an anonymous police detective in Westchester County, New York. The posters are from the United States and Canada, with the bulk of the posters issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Notable individuals represented include Lester Gillis, alias Baby Face Nelson; Mary Evelyn "Billie" Frechette; Arthur "Doc" Barker; mobster Roger Touhy; and bank robber Frank Nash. Radicals from 1970s include Weather Underground member Cathlyn Platt Wilkerson, Symbionese Liberation Army member Kathleen Soliah; and Black Liberation Army members Assata Shakur (JoAnne Chesimard) and brother Mutulu Shakur.

William Martin collection of photographs of the W. E. B. Du Bois family and others, early 1860s-circa 1914

The Du Bois family and the related Gomer family identified as African Americans of mixed-race descent and were based in Massachusetts and Iowa. Collection consists of eleven albumen and early gelatin silver photographs dating from the early 1860s to the early 1910s, featuring portraits of Alfred Du Bois (circa 1833-?), father of African American author, educator, and activist W.E.B. Du Bois (1868-1963); Nina Gomer Du Bois (circa 1870-1950), wife of W.E.B. Du Bois; and Nina Yolande Du Bois (1900 or 1901-1961), daughter of W.E.B. and Nina Du Bois. Other images are of unidentified women and children, some African American and some of indeterminate race. There are also two group photos: an elementary school class that includes W.E.B. Du Bois as a child; and one of the Carnegie Hall Conference "Committee of Twelve," all African American men, with Booker T. Washington and other men and women. Acquired as part of the John Hope Franklin Research Center for African and African American Culture and History at Duke University.

Collection consists of 25 gelatin silver prints of images taken in France by noted American photographer Todd Webb. The majority were taken from 1948 to 1951, with some from the 1970s, on the streets of Paris, particularly in the Latin Quarter, with other images from small towns and rural areas in Provence and one from Le Cannet, on the French Riviera. Subjects include streets, storefronts, squares, restaurants, outdoor advertising, doorways, and other city scenes, some with pedestrians and other figures. Acquired as part of the Archive of Documentary Arts at Duke University.
