Contains market research reports and other studies conducted for specific JWT clients. Includes television commercial studies for several clients, with breakdowns of age, income, viewing habits and product preferences among television commercial viewers from the 1980s. Also includes short reports of consumer opinion on particular products, including the Pond's "Your Skin 'Dies' A Little" campaign. Original folder titles were maintained and items were arranged alphabetically. Television commercial studies are organized by commercial format.

The Accounting Department series is arranged into four subseries. The Office of the Controller's records include memoranda, two General Accounting Procedures handbooks, and a small unbound booklet. The Accounting Operations Office records contain memoranda and correspondence from the Chief Accountant, and later the Manager of Accounting Operations. The Plant Accounting Office, which managed capital assets (especially equipment) and space utilization, contains Plant Accounting memoranda. Cost Accounting Office records contain an oversized spiral bound volume containing fully allocated cost schedules of all revenue producing components of the university, including the schools, medical center, service departments and business auxiliaries.

Contains reports, memoranda, case studies, clippings, and financial papers, chiefly redating to specific J. Walter Thompson Company accounts. Case studies can be found either undo the Case studies subsection or within the folder for the particular account, e.g. Scott Paper Company. The amount of material about specific accounts vary. For some, specific information about prizes, contests, and packaging used to promote specific products is included. Testimonial advertising developed to recruit well-known persons to endorse products and volunteer groups, who employed the J. Walter Thompson Company to promote their causes or concerns, are also represented.

Detailed accounts of naval surgeon John Simpson's voyages (the one exception being Simpson's copy of Sir John Richardson's Arctic Searching Expedition). Formats include small bound manuscript journals, volumes with inserted sketches and other manuscript items, folios, and manuscript proofs. Simpson's experiences on the HMS Plover and the emigration transport Superior are given particularly detailed treatments. Arranged in chronological order.

Smallest series includes photocopies of original incorporation papers, by-laws, a history of the NCCLU written by Daniel Pollitt and George Scheer in 1970, and other documents relating to the organization's earliest years of formation, when it was known as the NCCLU. Filed in the front of the folder is a list of Executive Directors with term years, and other key individuals in the organization. Additional early records from the 1960s and 1970s can be found in the other main series.

Arranged in the following groupings: chronological subseries by decade relating to Executive Directors in office during that period, beginning with the 1970s; followed by the Board of Trustees Subseries ; and last, the Publicity and Media Subseries . The original chronological groupings, some arranged internally in alphabetical order, were maintained by Executive Office staff and chiefly consisted of administrative files, correspondence files, requests for legal assistance (including rejections), and subject folders used for personal research and development, or in direct support of accepted cases. The presence of case files is explained partly by the fact that for some time the Executive Director functioned simultaneously as the Legal Director; later on, these two positions were again separate administrative functions, after which most of the case files were maintained by the Office of Legal Counsel, or the Legal Program, as it became known. This series documents Stone's activities as special assistant to Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. between 1965 and 1967, and includes speeches, press releases, correspondence between Powell and Stone, correspondence to and from other political figures and other members of Powell's staff, files on specific figures and organizations, clippings about Powell, and several folders of correspondence, clippings, and business documents specific to Powell's role as chair of the Committee on Education and Labor. The folders are labelled by topic and arranged alphabetically by title.

Consists of 76 videotapes containing commercials from Adbank's Grocery, Drug, and Convenience Stores Category. Giant Foods as well as competitor commercials are represented. Arranged chronologically and numbered sequentially.

Three addresses delivered by Everett H. Hopkins explaining the need for and importance of institutional advancement at Duke. Hopkins gave the first address to the Duke Faculty Club, dated March 21, 1961, before he actually began his duties as Vice President. The series is useful in explaining some of the concepts behind institutional advancement in higher education and its relationship to long-term planning, and showing the importance placed on planning and development at Duke during the early 1960s.

The Administration series contains documents relevant to the congregation's organizational records, and is divided into four subseries: Beth El Preschool, Board and Governance, Correspondence, and Subject Files. Beth El Preschool contains documents from the Carnival of the Arts, including publicity materials and financial summaries. The subseries includes extensive financial records of the preschool, including tax reports, payment records, and supplies expenditures. Also includes teacher applications, letters to parents, and information of the preschool's founding. Arranged alphabetically by folder title.
